Students from Boston’s public high schools are gaining firsthand experience at writing and producing plays this fall, as part of Wheelock Family Theatre’s new Emerging Playwrights Program (EPP). Participants develop and revise 10-minute plays during workshops led by Wheelock’s producer and playwright Wendy Lement. Check out their staged readings at the Strand Theatre on Nov. 22, the Mattahunt Community Center on Dec. 13 and the Wheelock Family Theatre on Dec. 15.
“We have structured this program to develop students’ creative expression, analytical thinking and confidence in expressing their own voices through writing,” says Stephen Reinstein, EPP associate director. Wheelock Family Theatre is located in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood on the campus of Wheelock College. For more information, visit wheelockfamilytheatre.org/special-events.aspx.
